Happy Halloween from us!!

Each department at work had a theme, ours is "Frankenstein"...
so I'm Frankenstein's daughter.

Here are the girls in our office...
We are having alot of fun today, but I can't wait to go home and wash my face and take this wig off and hand out candy! :)

Have a safe day!

Daddy's Girl { our weekend }

Happy Monday folks!
We had a pretty good weekend... Friday night we went to dinner and a movie... we saw Chasing Mavericks and it was really good!! Bring a tissue... it was a little bit of a tear jerker. Saturday I went and got my hair done (no pics yet) then we went out to dinner, Sunday we relaxed and were lazy... it was so nice to have a full weekend at home just the 3 of us.

Sleeping on Daddy. In the top picture, she was sleeping so hard her head fell over. ha!

 I know I blog/tweet/facebook/instagram alot about our sweet puppy... but she has such a fun personality and we just adore her! She is a daddy's girl through and through. If we are on the bed, she will almost always go over and lay on top of Andy... it's a surprise when she picks me to lay on. ha! If I'm sitting on the couch, and Andy's in the other room she'll lay with me for a little bit and then go to him. It's so precious to see how excited she gets when he comes home, or how she just follows him around like a little shadow.

Her head on his legs and yes, she is covered in the blanket. She loves sleeping inside the blankets... I think she thinks she might be human.

Watching "ET" with daddy.

I know to some these might be random posts but to us... they are some of life's sweetest moments. Daisy is going to miss her daddy while he is deployed... but will be SO excited when he comes home to us! I'm thankful Andy loves dogs as much as I do... and I'm thankful for this little pup who brightens our every day. She will always be our first baby!

Happy Monday.

These are my confessions.... { link up }

We have made it, y'all!
It's finally Friday and I'm so excited that I have an entire weekend off!! AND... we found out that Andy might not have duty! So it's a win-win in our house! I plan to do lots of cooking, baking, take my husband on a date (since he always takes me), a trip or two to the dog park and just being with my 2 favorites in Georgia!

Since it's Friday... you know that means it's time to fess up!
Link up with Leslie today to share your deepest, darkest confessions!

1) I confess that I'm getting my hair done tomorrow and it's so ridiculously over-due (like 6 weeks over-due!) and I am not sure I've ever been more excited for a hair appointment. Ha! I'm thinking of doing some low lights with some bright high lights... we'll see. I usually go in thinking one thing and come out with something totally different! ha! I do want some darker in for the fall tho.

Which do you like?

{ A }
blonde with lowlights

{ B }
Hair color - blonde with brown lowlights

{ C }
Pastel blonde , with chocolate lowlights

{ D }
Dark blonde with highlights and strawberry lowlights..I like this one.

 { all pics from Pinterest }

2) I've lost 7 pounds! I'm thrilled to pieces... and am still working on it. :) The other night we had baked pork chops with a side of this....
Sauteed' squash, mushrooms and onions. I'm obsessed with mushrooms and onions lately.

3) I'm happy that I'm losing, but I'm craving bad food like nobody's business. I had a stressful night last night and caved and am kicking myself for it... but today is a new day and so far so good!

4) I have a black pair of sandals that I wear with EVERYTHING... and they broke last week. Since then I've had to expand my wardrobe since I don't have a pair of black sandals that I like. And yes, I'm still wearing sandals... it's 80 degrees. I do have many other pairs of shoes, but those were just my every day go-to shoes. I miss them. :(

5) This little cutie makes me smile. Probably not a confession since every one knows how much I adore my nephews, but my SIL Jade is just so good at sending me pictures all the time and they make my day!

My dad taught him this finger pop thing... he thought Jade said "Grampy" instead of "Aunt Randi".

6) Speaking of grampy...
I have a little bit of country in me. I'll tell you why.... My mom texted me the other day "your dad got a deer! I'll send you a picture". Yes folks, we get excited over dad's "catch" of the day.

Isn't he adorable?!
7) I've been stressed out lately... So bad that my poor husband is getting the grunt of it... I need to figure out how to not get so frustrated over little things... any ideas?

 8) I got a new nail polish. Did I need one? probably not. Do I love it? YES!

It's essie "Master Plan"... might be one of my favs! It's a light grey color...

9) I don't like Halloween. There... I said it.
Scary stuff creeps me out, I don't like spiders, ghosts, skelatins, or anthing else Halloweenie... Give me some fall leaves and a pumpkin and I'll decorate anything but not the goblins. No thank you, no way.

10) I have big plans of taking my hubby on a date tonight. What are we doing? no idea.... but he always takes me on a date so I'm going to take him.

11) I sometimes think my Friday confessions are boring.... oh well.

Thankful.

First off.... Thank you to Laura Beth for joining in on my first link up!! I know it was totally last minute so I didn't really expect anyone to link up... but she did! Go check out her post on makeup and her blog!

I was going to link up for "What I'm Loving Wednesday".... but I just have SO MUCH on my mind and I just need one of those posts that I can dump it all out...  you know what I mean?

We still don't have official orders on Andy's deployment, but on Tuesday I am going to a mandatory spouse pre-deployment fair, his name is on the list, he's been doing "deployment classes" and he is getting all the shots needed to go over-seas... so in my heart I know he's going, but I just wish we had some darn orders!

Our family has been amazing through all of this... I just want to share a little how much they are stepping up and helping Andy and I through this...

* My sister in law and brother (JD, Jade and Jackson) are allowing Daisy and I to come live with them for 9 months. They are going to have me run the children area at their gym they are opening in Maryland, they are going to let me nanny Jackson, live in their basement, bring my sweet fur baby and work with me on Paleo and Crossfit.
This little cutie is going to get me through some rough days while Andy's gone.

* My grandma is giving me her Southwest miles so that Andy and I only have to pay for 1 ticket to come home before he deploys.

* My other sister in law and brother in law (Liz and Pat) told us if we needed to we could put our tickets on their Southwest card so we don't have to worry about that.

* My dad is coming out to drive Daisy and I and some of our stuff up to Maryland so I don't have to figure out how to do it all on my own.

This face will be my rock for the next 11 months.

I knew from the start we are blessed with our amazing families, but the love is just pouring out through all of this and I can't thank them enough!! At the beginning of the week I was feeling so stressed, but after lots of prayer it's just all coming together perfectly.

I was kind of worrying about my job situation, and wanted to work as much as possible so we could have the two incomes since we will have expenses coming up... but then I found tickets at a lower price, my grandma is giving us miles and we will have to pay less than $600.00 to go home so I'm able to take time off and spend with my sweet husband before he leaves. Now... if we could just get some orders so we can book all of this stuff!

I'm not going to lie, It's going to be rough. Andy is my best friend, my soul mate, the one who I can always talk to about anything, my rock, the love of my life... and I'm going to miss him so much .... as will sweet Daisy. She's SUCH a daddy's girl.... but this is our life!

SO... on that note. Thank you to my sweet readers for your encouraging words, prayers and thoughts for our family as we are in this waiting period. I'll be sure to keep you posted on what our future looks like. With the Army it's always all about "hurry up and wait"....

*********************************************************************************
On the Paleo side of life.... this was dinner last night:

Salmon, steak, roasted orange pepper with onion, and mashed cauliflower.

It was pretty good, although I cooked the steak a little too long... but I'm slowly getting there. Through all this I've wanted to eat my "comfort foods" but I'm refraining... it's tough but I can't turn to food anymore. It's not worth it!

Happy hump day! We are almost there....

Make-Up -- Link-Up!!

It's time for my very first link up! I might have 0 people participate or I might have 20! Who knows... but I love talking makeup, so join me... will you??

This isn't my makeup bag, but I think it's hilarious and had to share it!
makeup bag!!

Now I am not a professional make up artist by any means... but I've always loved wearing make up and trying new things... so I thought it would be fun to share what's in our makeup bags!

I am not one to posses natural beauty... without my makeup I look like I'm half asleep and white as a ghost... so I for one am a fan of the cover up, fake or not.

Let me tell you what are some of my favorites and an absolute must in my book!

(All of this can be found at Sephora or Ulta!)

FACE

I always, always use a primer. It makes the foundation go on much more smooth and tends to last longer in my opinion... These are some great ones, but you must use what works for you!

I'm using the Mary Kay one right now... I like it, but don't love it.....

I've used bare essentials for YEARS and will continue to use it until I die find something just as good.

For those special occasion nights, I use a little bit of MAC foundation under my BE and it gives a fancier look....
(MAC is my weakness)

For my pasty white cheeks, Bobbi Brown does the work.
This may look very bright pink, but it's the perfect splash of color to my white white skin.

The Eyes....

This is the only picture I could get of my eye makeup... since my eyes are usually open in pictures...
(please excuse the sweet pup in my face)

Like I said... I love MAC.... especially when it comes to eye shadow!

Woodwinked and Yogurt are some of my absolute favorites!

If you have blue eyes, you are suppose to lean towards the golds/tans/browns... every other color of eye, I have aboslutely no idea because I only have blue eyes. :( But I'll do some research if you need me to!

Perfect combo!

I love an eyeshadow that will give you a good shimmer too!

You can find this at your local Target or Wal Mart... it's Covergirl Color stay and it's almost the exact colors as some MAC eye shadows and I love it just as much!

Some days I think I'll be brave and go without eye liner... then I look at myself and realize I look like I'm missing something... so I gave up on that. I need eyeliner like a football player needs a helmet! (you like that analagy honey?)...

This is my MOST FAVORITE eyeliner in the world and it does not smudge! I love it! Totally worth the $20.00 or whatever it is at Ulta.

I've used every. single. mascara under the sun.... This is my fav. Always will be probably. After a good lash curl this does the trick! I was not blessed with long lashes but this makes it look like I was.

And then I top off with this at the ends to make them have that false/natural look.

Lips.....

(trying to show my lips)

I've never been a fan of BRIGHT LIPS.... about once or twice a year I'll be bold and slap on some red lipstick... but then I usually end up wiping it off and telling myself I look like a clown. I just can't do it... I wish I could.

Instead... I have my trusty MAC lipstick. This is "lustre" and I've used the same color since my early 20's. I even wore this pretty thing on my weddin' day!

And my most favorite non-sticky shiney  lipgloss in the world! Good ol' Bath & Body Works!
This one tho, not the dark green... feels like I put honey on my lips. No thanks.

My favorite every day chap stick is any flavor from GAP. I love it, and for $3.50 I'll take two!

My secret to keeping my face clean....

This in the morning....

This in the evening....

Followed by this before bed

Join me in showing our secrets will you??

My first link up! {makeup}

I'm pretty sure I've figured out how to do a link up.... SO ... who wants to join in??

Tomorrow... Tuesday October 23rd... I'm going to do my first link up party!

The topic... something after my own heart....

MAKEUP!!!!

So join me tomorrow as we find out what is in everyone's glamour bag!

Birthday, Graduation and Paleo!

Monday, Already??

I only had part of a weekend because we had our schools graduation on Saturday and I was downtown for that ALL DAY but after a lot  few kinks it turned out well and the students were SO happy!

Thank you for your sweet comments about my frustrations I was just having a bad day and let it all pour out! I am better now... actually I was over it that evening when my sweet husband took me to dinner and a movie. He knows how to turn my frown upside down and I adore him for it! We did break the paleo and had popcorn... but got the medium size instead of the jumbo thing. We both love popcorn... so that was a good improvement. :)

We got to face time with our sweet nephews last night! (and Andy's brother Frank and his wife)
These boys are too cute! We miss them A LOT!

 Yesterday I made Paleo Quiche, it's a recipe my SIL sent me and it's SO good! Andy on the other hand, didn't LOVE it... he ate it but said it's not something he would have every day. I made it so I could just grab it and go on my days that I work early.
It has eggs, coconut oil, bacon, tomatoes, onions, spinach and artichokes. Yum!

Yesterday my sweet sister turned 16!!!
Happy Birthday Hattie-Pie!!!
I can't believe she's already 16! :(

When she was little, she would makes these faces and say "MAD Hattie".... "HAAAAPPY HATTIE!!!"
It was adorable!!

She sent me a picture making those same faces 15 years later....
She went from an adorable little girl into a beautiful young lady, and I'm proud to call her my sister!

My sweet sister in law Liz started a new blog!!!!!
 Go show her some love at the Misplaced McLennas!!

Not really any news on the deployment end.... his name is on the list but they still haven't cut orders... so once we receive those it will be official. :( I kind of had a break down last night... it just hit me as he was in the other room that he is leaving. I was complaining that we watched football off and on all day, but I would rather watch football until I'm blue in the face with him by my side than be able to watch my own smut TV without him there. He, like a good husband would do, just let me cry it out and then showed me a picture of Jack (our nephew) that was on the wall next to us and said "this little guy is going to get you through this".... and it's true... I'm SO thankful to my brother, sister and nephew for taking Daisy and I in and helping me get through this. I can't thank them enough!!

It was a good weekend in all... thankfully I have this weekend off but Andy has duty on Sunday, 24 hour duty at that! :( and then I work next Satuday. Ugh.

Happy Monday :)
