Top 12 of 2012....

As I sit back and look at the year 2012... No one specific moment sticks out because it's been a year or fun, trials, and craziness for my sweet husband and I!

So, here is my top 12 of 2012 and what I'm looking forward to in 2013!

12. Visiting with our families over Christmas of 2011 and January of 2012... And Andy finally getting to meet my brother!

11. Celebrating our first wedding anniversary!! I'm blessed to have Andy as my better half and I can't wait to celebrate 70 more with him!!

10. Moving into our apartment on post. It was a rough way to move (being robbed) but it ended up being a blessing!

9. My little brother graduated high school and Andy and I got to make his video of pictures. It was a fun time making it because I got to show Andy lots of pictures from growing up!

8. Constant trips to the dog park with our sweet Daisy!

7. Visiting JD, Jade, Jackson, my mom, my dad and Hattie in Maryland for a few days. On that trip Andy showed me where he went to AIT and did training.

6. We celebrated my 28th birthday with good friends and a bar-b-que!

5. Andy turned 30 and we were able to celebrate a long weekend in Savannah with Andy's sister Liz, her husband Pat and our good friend Britney. Some of our amazing friends came out to celebrate Andy's special day as well!

4. I got a promotion to Financial Planner at the college I was working at and made some pretty special friends!

3. Daisy weighed in at 85 pounds!

2. We were able to go home to Idaho for Thanksgiving before Andy deployed.

1. The most bitter-sweet event of all... Andy deployed and Daisy and I made the move to Maryland to be with my brother and sister (and nephew).

As I look back on the years since we've been married... (Only 2011 and 2012) there have been some ups and downs but I wouldn't want to be on this adventure called life with anyone but my Andy!! I love you honey and I hope you are reading this!

I'm so excited for 2013... I'm going to lose weight, get fit, conquer paleo and crossfit and welcome my soldier home in September!!! It's going to be great!

What are your top 12 of 2012??

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was a little hard without Andy, but I managed to have a fun time with my sister in laws family. They were so sweet to take me in and spoil me! I was able to face time with Andy a few times on Christmas so I was very thankful for that!

I hope you all had a great day and some wonderful memories were made!!

Lack of Christmas Spirit...

Well... I have been slacking in the blog area. I'm not going to lie, we have been SUPER busy but also blogging on an iPad isn't super easy... I might have to go buy a keyboard for it ... maybe that would help?

I can't believe Christmas is in 19 days. Honestly, it could be July and I wouldn't even know it. I am so pre-occupied with moving, packing, Andy and our life right now that I have not even purchased one Christmas gift, and to be quite honest.... I probably won't.

I hate that I just can't get into the Christmas spirit... but it's just hard right now. I can't explain it, but the feelings right now are just something I've never felt before. I don't really care what is going on around me... I just want this time apart to be quick. My Andy is my best friend... he knows me better than anyone else and I just ache at the thought of not seeing him for 9 months.

I am not meaning for this to be a "woe is me" post... I just want to document how I'm feeling and let other Military wives know it's ok to be sad. "D-Day" is upon us and with this being our first deployment I'm just not sure what to expect. I'm scared. No, I'm terrified.... but I know that God has a plan in all of this and He will provide! He already has so much!!

This is our life right now... boxes all over the house :) But hey, we are almost there! Tomorrow housing comes for the pre-inspection and Sunday we move everything to our storage unit and then the final inspection from housing is on Wednesday.

Thoughts and prayers are appreciated... I haven't been feeling the greatest the last few days (flu bug and allergy issues) so I am just hoping to get through the weekend with good health! I'm going to take it easy tomorrow since we are pretty much done. Saturday, Andy and I are going to my old job's Christmas party on a riverboat and I'm super excited! We've always wanted to do this and now we have a chance. It's a night to get dressed up and not think about the deployment, moving or anything to do with the Army :)

I hope you are all doing well, and if you don't hear from me in the next week or so... it's ok. Just say a prayer of safety for my soldier.... It would make my heart happy!

Packing blues...

Happy Monday everyone!!

I had no alarm to wake up to this morning, in fact I was in a very nice deep sleep when my hubby came in from PT to wake me :) I got up, made coffee, made him breakfast and now am suppose to be packing but I can't seem to get into it.... Ugh! I started packing yesterday and got all of the living room packed and some of the kitchen. I only have 2 bedrooms, the bathroom, the rest of the kitchen, laundry room and a few closets..... Which isn't bad but here is my problem....

So... My goal for the day is get all the laundry done and at least one  room packed. I technically have until Sunday so I'm not too worried.

What are your tips when you move?? I now remember why we use movers! Lol

On another note.... Happy Birthday to our favorite confessional Friday host, Leslie!!!

Happy Monday everyone!

So... We are the proud new owners of an iPad... My question is this: do any of you blog on an iPad and how do you feel about it?? Andy is taking our Mac so he has a DVD player so I'll be using this nifty little thing...  Is it really any different and do my blog posts still show up the same??

I'm posting my favorite pic because that's the only ones have on the iPad.

Let me know what you think!! And happy Monday friends!! (or Sunday night if you are reading this tonight) ;)

Snuggles and sniffles!

It's 1:00 in the morning... Saturday night or Sunday morning, whatever you'd like to call it and my throat is scratchy, my head is throbbing and my nose is running... Please don't let me be sick :(
I just got home from Wal- Mart and have a trunk full of boxes, packing tape and a big black marker ready to pack... and I start feeling sick now!? ugh.

It's starting to sink in big time now... Andy's really leaving. I'm so thankful for my brother and SIL to take me in... but just knowing that I can't reach over and hold my husbands hand for the next 9 months is making me want to cry. I know we are strong and will become stronger because of this, but gosh I'm going to miss him!

Daisy is laying by my leg right now, Andy on the other side and life is perfect. But... life in the Army is  ours and we will make the most of this next journey.

So for now, I'm going to enjoy this short time I have with my little family of 3. :)

Happy Weekend to you and yours!

Andy and I had a great time in Idaho for Thanksgiving and a pre-deployment vacation. We spent a lot of time with family and saw some friends and just soaked up every minute of our time together. It's going to be busy for the days ahead, but we will figure it out :)

I'll let the pictures do the talking since we took tons of them! (these are only some)

My mom took this of us before we went to take family pictures on Andy's side.

We got some great pictures of us outside that my little sister took....

Possible Christmas card?

No, Daisy didn't go... but she can't be left out of the card! ;)

We kept our nephew Jaron one night, he's almost 3 and it's such a fun age!!! We miss our sweet nephews already!

Top left is my sister and I, the middle is my SIL and Jaron, bottom is my brother and his girlfriend, bottom right is my mom and my brother, and then Andy with 3 of our 5 nephews.

We were able to see my little brother who is in the Marines for a few days... I'm so proud of this guy!

Us with Jaron after pictures were over

Andy was tired of pictures by this point ;)

Nate, Karissa and Dani dog.

We got to see our sweet friend Tonia....

and Andy's best friend Luke and his new bride and sweet daughter Grace.

Tonia and her husband Brad are also my parents neighbors :)
(that's my mom and dad if you haven't been able to tell already)

This was on our way to Idaho in the Denver USO.

A sneak peak of some of the family pictures.

Checking in!

We are having a great time on vacation!
It's been relaxing but we've been able to do a lot of things. I'll have more of a vacation update this weekend when we get home and I can dump all the pictures... but I did want to share with you some of our pre-deployment photos I had my little sister take of Andy and I.

We just went out behind my parents house and in their nothing too fancy but I'm happy with how they turned out.

This is probably my favorite of all the ones we took.

love his kisses!

his smile is the best :)

Love holding his hand!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a good week so far!
See you soon!

Idaho Bound....

She grew up on a side of the road
Where the church bells rang and strong love grows
She grew up good
She grew up slow
Like American honey....

Steady as a preacher
Free as a weed
Couldn't wait to get goin
But wasn't quite ready to leave
So innocent, pure and sweet
American honey

The Rodriguez's are homeward bound...

From our home to yours....
Happy Thanksgiving!

Andy and I are celebrating the next week with our friends and family in Idaho... so the blog will be on a little hiatus during that time. I'll be back with lots of pictures and details about our trip!

P.S. I should clarify ... my last post meant "goodbye for now, South" not goodbye blog! :)
