In a rut...

Do you ever feel like you are in a rut?
That's what I feel like... like I keep trying to climb out of this big hole that I'm in and I keep climbing... and climbing... and climbing.

My birthday is 2 weeks from today and I don't even feel like doing anything for it. I just feel like it would be easier to just skip the day and go straight from the 11th to the 13th.

Has anyone ever felt this?

Sometimes it's too much of an issue to decide what you are doing, where you are going... really it's just another day... and I'm only turning 27, it's nothing fancy. I guess I just don't feel like celebrating myself... anyone else's birthdays I love to celebrate... but just not me, not this year.

(I'm not saying this to be like... "woe me" I am just being honest, and let's face it... it's my journal  that's the fun of it... I can write what I want and when I want ) :)

Anyways... I guess this week's just done me in. With our air being out, not being at home for 3 days straight, and now our Direct TV is out AGAIN (it went out 2 weekends ago...) I am just sick of things right now. Ugh. I need to be more positive but I'm just tired!

I am VERY thankful however that our air is fixed! That has made me smile!

Here's to a great weekend!!! :)

Sneak peak....

We haven't been in our home since Monday.. so my plan of taking pictures of the decorations and posting them has failed... so... probably this weekend you will get a "home tour" with all our new stuff! But... I thought I would give you a sneak peak.... :)

First off... this was my view as I drove to Hobby Lobby... ummm GORGEOUS!
How can you deny there is a God after seeing this!?

I found my letters!!! Thank you Hob Lob... I adore you!

And then the painting started... I have a new found love for painting! I have always loved crafty things... but I really enjoyed myself this time! I'm going to try and do more DIY things! wish me luck! ;)

This cutie was sitting here watching me the whole time! :)
I think she wanted to paint!

Here is where our "Family" sign went... I love it! excuse my husband's cute head! :)

I got this stand for SIX BUCKS at the thrift store last week... I LOVE IT! It adds alot to the living room... I think that room is actually finished! You'll see during the "home tour" how it all comes together!

Happy Wednesday y'all! We are half way through!!!

Jack Attack!

Seriously... this is probably the funniest picture yet! I stole this from my SIL's facebook ( I feel like I say that alot!) ... isn't he a ham?! I just LOVE this boy!!

His shirt is Superman... seriously! how cute?!

"What's up"

Here is a sneak peak of some decorating I did... I found this sign at Hobby Lobby... LOVE IT!!! It's hanging above the TV. It made our living room sparkle!! :)

Happy Tuesday y'all!

AC Story...

So... as I told you on Sunday... our AC went out! Well it's still out!
Here's the story...
Saturday I came home and it was warmer than normal in our house.. I keep it at 70 because if you know me... you know I'm ALWAYS hot! my thyroid is all balanced out now (thank you Synthroid!), except someone forgot to tell my internal thermostat it can go back to normal too... so I'm usually about 10 degrees hotter than the normal person... so 70 to me is pretty comfortable. Anyways, I felt hotter than normal.. so I went to check out the Thermostat and it was at 75! I asked my dear hubby (who never ever touches the thing) if he had changed it... he said "no babe, I don't touch that!" ... so I thought, well that's weird! So I put it back down to the normal spot... well I woke up in the middle of the night just hotter than the sun itself! I went out to the thermostat and it said it was 78! WHAT! I changed that earlier! I was deleriously tired so I went back to bed and figured I would just deal with it in the morning.
Sunday morning... woke up around 9:30ish (we didn't go to bed until almost 3!) ... and I was HOT! Even Andy said it was hot in there! So I went to the closet where the AC is... it wasn't doing anything! So I cranked it down... nothing... There is NO WAY this could break! I was thinking to myself... well, it had broke. Stick in a fork in the thing because it was done!
So... I googled our realty place, tried to find an emergency number... people, it's 95 degrees with 63% humidity... THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY!!!! By this time it was almost 80 in our house... to me... that's 90!
Sad to say... there was absolutely NO emergency number. None. Zip. Zilch. Ridiculous I thought to myself! I went to find our little "welcome to your apartment" folder they gave us, and found a card for one of the relators... I called her cell and left a voicemail in my oh so calm voice... I really wanted to say "IT'S HOT! help!" but I explained the situation and patiently waited... patiently! ;)
A few hours later I get a text from her saying that someone was going to come look at it, the latest would be tomorrow. So of course, my hopes are up and I am listening for every little car door slam that I can hear to see if it's them! Well, it's not. Not at all.
I wait a few hours... I text "the lady" again... she said if they weren't there by now, they wouldn't be there until tomorrow. GRRRR. Ok. I'm fine. So we escaped the hot house and went to dinner and a movie!

We get home and I swear on my life our house had gotten 10 degrees hotter!! So Andy and I went and bought a few fans... one for Daisy's kennel, and one gigantic one for us. You better believe I wanted to buy a whole AC unit... but I just couldn't justify spending $200 on something that we wouldnt use after this week.
So after maybe 3 or 4 hours of sleep (at the most!) I woke up sweating like a professional basketball player at the NBA finals and jumped in the cold shower. By this time, it's around 8:00 am and I am on the phone calling the apartment people! I didn't hear from them... called again at 8:15, no answer... called again at 8:30... nothing! In my mind, they are open from 8-5... so I text "the lady" and by the time I get a hold of her she texts me back and says "office opens at 9:15, Elyse (the secretary) knows so call her. Again, please call Elyse".... ummm really?! YOU are going to give me attitude... I'm pretty sure YOU are in your nice air conditioned house and I am the one sweating like mad in the house that is now 95 degrees. You really want to give ME attitude?! no thank you.

So... after calling little miss Elyse 16 times on Monday... yes, you saw that right... SIXTEEN... times! I finally found out that they had to order the part and replace the whole AC unit... which will cost quite a bit. So I told Elyse... it's 95 degrees and humid in our apartment, what would you like us to do in the mean time?? and she says.. "well let me call the owner of the condo and see if she'll put you up in a hotel"... ok, that's cool... I can pack our bags, load all of us up and go to a hotel... as long as it means I will be cooled off when I sleep!!! Once again... I get the "I'll call you back with an answer" shpeel and by this time I'm done. It's 4:30, they close at 5... yes, 9-5 Monday through Friday... ummm sign me up for that schedule please!
and of course, no answer... so I call... again... by the 3rd call it's about 4:50... she answers. "Well, I talked to the owner and she is not going to put you in a hotel. If you want a hotel room, she will take $100 off the rent..." and I said "well, what do you expect us to do in the mean time?" as patiently as I could! So.. she has the nerve to say to me... "well, the owner IS spending $1300 to get YOUR AC fixed"... and I said "first of all, I appreciate that but it's not MINE to fix! It's her duty as a landlord to fix these kinds of things."

So there is our AC story... hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow at 5pm! We are corssing her fingers and saying lots of prayers!

I have to give a shout out to our friends The Wooten's! They graciously let us stay at their place (cooooool place) while they are in Orlando! THANK YOU TODD AND KELLY!!!! We are SO thankful for you!!

Hot.. Hot.. Hot!

Our AC is broke... so needless to say I won't be blogging much today... It's a hot one outside, and it's hot in our house! We have 1 fan and we are under it in the living room just laying and watching movies. I think we are going to get ready and escape to go have some lunch/dinner and a movie... it's too hot to be home!

We are drinking lots of this today!!!

Wish I had a nice little hand held fan to hold in front of my face! ha ha!

Hopefully our AC will be fixed this afternoon or tomorrow at the LATEST!! It's HOT!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!!

JD... meet your son.

I remember sayin' I don't care either way
Just as long as he or she is healthy, I'm okay
And then the doctor pointed to the corner of the screen
And said, "You see that thing right there? Well, you know what that means"

I started wondering who he was going to be
And I thought heaven help us if he's anything like me

He'll probably climb a tree too tall and ride his bike too fast
End up every summer wearin' something in a cast
He's gonna throw a ball and break some glass
In a window down the street

He's gonna get in trouble, oh, he's gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my payback
If he's anything like me

I can see him right now, knees all skinned up
With a magnifying glass tryin' to melt a Tonka truck
Won't he be a sight with his football helmet on?
That'll be his first love 'til his first love comes along

He'll get his heart broke by the time he's in his teens
And heaven help him if he's anything like me

He'll probably stay out too late and drive his car too fast
Get a speeding ticket, he'll pay for mowing grass
He's gonna get caught skippin' class
And be grounded for a week

He's gonna get into trouble, we're gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my payback
If he's anything like me

He's gonna love me
And hate me along the way
The years are gonna fly by
And I already dread the day

He's gonna hug his mama, he's gonna shake my hand
He's gonna act like he can't wait to leave

But as he drives out he'll cry his eyes out
If he's anything like me
There's worst folks to be like, oh, he'll be alright
If he's anything like me

Home Decor...

Lately I feel like our apartment isn't very "homey"... don't get me wrong, it definitely has that lived in feel... but it just doesn't feel cute to me. For those that know me, you know my love is in decorating... I would be an interior designer if I had the time and patience, but when it comes to our home... I just don't know what to do!
I do love that what it is decorated with is from our wedding! We used alot of our centerpieces and wedding decor to spice up our home... but it just looks like a bunch of random stuff placed everywhere.
I guess it's mainly our bedroom and the living room... I love the kitchen, quite honestly it looks like an antique store and I LOVE that... and I love our office... it's the Americana look... but when it comes to our bedroom, the living room and the guest room... it's just blah! In the guest room and our bedroom we have beautiful bedding... and I feel like it's going to waste because there's nothing to go along with it! It's like having a cute new top but rugged jeans... it's just not right!

So... I've been on (ADDICTING SITE by the way...) and I've found some looks that I love. The only thing is... the 1 store that has everything that I need... is forever away!! Ok, it's really only about 45 minutes from my work... but about an hour and half from our house!
If you guessed it... you guessed right....

Hobby Lobby to me... is like the golden arches to a McDonalds lover! I am OBSESSED with that store...
Saturday after work my hubby and I were going to go to a few craft stores in Savannah, but I might just bite the bullett and say "honey... let's take a drive!"
By the way... This is the SOUTH... Sweet Tea, Fried Pork Chops, and Hobby Lobby was suppose to be on every corner! Not a road trip away!

Anyways... here are some decoration ideas that I am drooling over.... If we actually make the trek to Hob Lob this weekend, I'll take some before and after pictures... because if you know me, you'll know that once I buy those decorations... they will be up in my house in a matter of minutes!

This is going above our bed... I adore this!!! Ours wont be blue and black tho... our bedroom is white, brown, and a khaki color... so I'm still trying to decide what color ours will be... any ideas???

This is actually kinda what our bedding looks like.... maybe we could throw a blue in there?

Love this also...

This just looks so welcoming!!

I love this chalk board look!!

So there you go... that's what I love... I think we'll go to HL and see what they have to offer. You just can't beat their sales... and their adorable stuff!!

We have a blank wall in our living room... it has a big clock on it, but it's just missing something... so we'll see what I can find for that... and for our wall that our TV is on... right now it just has a random picture and that sticks out like a sore thumb. ugh. Email me if you have ideas or pictures or thoughts...
I'm have decorators block.

Tomorrow... TGIF... and my brother gets home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A loss for words....

I like to think of this blog as a journal, a diary of Andy and I's journey through life... and today, I am just at a loss for words.

You see... Army life isn't always easy, you are away from your family, in an unknown area, around a bunch of strangers who just so happen to be going what you are going through, and you just don't have lots of people to turn to. So when you do find some people, you try to get to know them... you eventually become friends and learn to treat them like family... because that's what they become.... your family.
Then one day, it all changes. Your friends who you thought were your friends, are no longer there for you.

I am not going to go into details, because quite honestly... it's not worth my time. I will tell you one thing, please don't judge people. If you have a problem with someone, talk to them... don't hold your feelings in. It's not worth it for you, and it's definintely not worth it for them.

I am thankful for this situation however, it has brought my husband and I even closer then we already were.

I love you honey, and thank you for being my rock and for keeping our heads up!

I always try to remember what my SIL/Friend Liz tells me... "kill them with kindness!!"

I found this quote... and it's so true... "Kindness is loving people more than they deserve"

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

PT and everything else!

First off... HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Does this week feel like it has been never-ending to y'all? because it does to me!
We have an exciting update for you tho... Andy had Physical Therapy this morning and they not only said no more crutches (unless it's a long distance)... but they  unlocked his brace... meaning he can now bend his leg when he walks! So no more peg leg look for my honey! Also, she said that he can do daily activities and pretty much anything that doesn't include running!! He still has some pain, so he can't push it too much and will still have to ice it and do his daily exercises. Also, he's allowed to have the brace off while we are at home... which is so wonderful! I can't imagine how annoying that thing can be!
The most exciting thing of all is he's at 105 degrees!
The goal of the PT and Dr is 120 degrees... so within the next few weeks he'll be there!! I'm so proud of him, he's worked hard and has had a very positive attitude through this whole thing! Let me tell you, surgery is NOT easy... espcially 3 in 1 (which is what he had)... I'm anxious for his Doctor appointment in August, I hope they give him the green light to start driving soon!!

I have to put a few pictures up of this cutie who now has 2 teeth!! He is brushing them here... no cavities for this handsome boy!

Concentrating so hard on getting them clean!

His daddy is in Canada today.... so slowly he's making his way home!!
I have to give a shout out to my SIL Jade... she is wonderful at sending pictures and keeping us updated on Jack... thank you sis!!

I had to take a few pictures of our little pup last night.. Andy and I walked into our room to go to sleep, and look who jumped right on up! She is so funny, she thinks she needs a little cuddle time with momma and daddy before she goes in her Mansion (kennel).

But really... who could resist that sweet face!?

I can see her just thinking.. "I'm ready, what's on TV tonight??"

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Blog Makeover!

What do y'all think of the blog makeover??
Yay or Nay??
Leave a comment... let me know!!

I had to put on a picture of this little cutie! His daddy is in CANADA! Which means he will be home so very soon!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am for my brother to see his sweet baby! I know, you are probably tired of hearing it... but how amazing is their little families reunion going to be?! I am just beyond happy for them!!  I'm hoping my SIL will send me a few pics to post up here!

Happy Tuesday y'all... we are almost to hump day!!!

5 Months...

150 days ago I married my best friend.... I didn't realize at the time how drastically life would change...but I wouldn't trade it for the world! It's been 5 months and we have been through so much already!! Here are just a few...
* moved accross the country... and away from family
* no job for Randi for 3 months (then started a job, quit and got a different job)
* finding out the way of the Army life
* huge knee surgery for Andy
* new puppy
and all the other stuff in between!

As much as we have been through in the last 5 months, I can't imagine going through it with anyone else! My husband has got to be one of the most patient men in the world... I may be nice and sweet on the outside, but sometimes I can get a little irritable! And Andy just sits there and tells me everything will be ok, because we have each other and that's all we need... and he is right! I am so thankful that I was single for all those years because it made me appreciate him so much more, and realize how amazing he is... and that I don't really deserve him, but I am sure glad he chose me!!

Babe ~ I love you!!!

Here are a few pictures we took this morning before I left for work....

Self portraits are never easy!

Daisy thought she needed to get in on one :)

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!!

Saturday, July 16, 2011

Once again.... I plan for a nice quiet weekend at home and of course things come up and we are on the move again! It's now almost 5:00 and we are sitting down and watching movies (we would be watching TV but our Direct TV is out for a few days... ugh!). Oh, and since our TV is out and won't be fixed until Tuesday morning, I can't watch Bachelorette :( Thankfully I'm not SUPER into this season... but I would like to watch! Oh well.

Friday night Andy and I went out with our friend Jason... we went to Buffalo Cafe for dinner... we have been wanting to try this place so we figured it would be a good night... we were a little disappointed. The corn on the cob was to die for, but the rest wasn't that great. Oh well! Worth a try!
Then we went to see Harry Potter... to be honest, I'm not a HP fan...never have been. I almost fell asleep, and it was freeeeezing cold so that didn't help! I even went out to the lobby at one point to de-frost!

Today I got up and cleaned the house then we went grocery shopping. We put Andy in a motorized cart at Wal Mart and went at it! Quite honestly, I probably should have just gone alone because I think it took twice as long! There was one point I had to go searching the store for him because he scooted off! Of course, I found him in the electronic section!

My parents bought Andy and I a combined birthday gift... so we went to Lowe's to pick that up today! We got a NICE grill and some grilling accessories to go with it!!!

So tonight we are grilling out steaks and veggies! I'm so excited to be able to use this thing 11 months out of the year!!

Here are some pictures of the weekend so far!

He's the cute part of our pictures together!! :)

There it is!

Where the magic happens!

Our pup loves to run outside but prefers to lay her head down inside!

Even Daisy is excited for the grill!!
(It looks like she is licking her lips here! ha!)

Our friend Jason!

Daisy and Pinkie (Pinkie #3!)

The guys got some new socks that are lined with lotion inside... they just had a 10 minute conversation about how comfortable they are and how they feel so good on the feet!
I wish another girl was here to witness this!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
