And then there were 3....

We have a new family member! Her name is Daisy and she is absolutely precious! She is a Lab Retriever/English Bull dog mix... and she is an angel! She's so relaxed and fits into our family perfectly! We are already SO attached to this little bundle of joy!
Leaving her this morning was incredibly hard... but thankfully Andy was able to come home throughout the day to love on her and let her out.... I must say, she is a daddy's girl through and through!!

Daisy Duke is our little southern bell! Here's how we came across her....
Andy and I were laying in bed on Sunday watching TV and one of those "adopt or give money to these pets" commercial came on... and we were both sucked in... and before he could even give me the "go ahead" I was already pullin the Mac out and looking for a dog! So we came across ARF (animal rescue foundation) and it lead us to a town about 45 minutes away where our little munchkin lived. As soon we we saw her picture we fell in LOVE! So I called the number and left a message, and of course called back later that evening...
Andy and I went to a movie on Monday and tried to forget about that precious face, and managed to... at least until our phone started ringing! IT WAS THE FOSTER PARENTS!! He asked when we wanted to come out and I asked if right now would work... next thing I knew we were on our way to the ATM and going to pick up our puppy! As soon as we got there, I had to go to the bathroom SO bad... so I did, and I came out to Andy holding and snuggling a little black ball of cuteness! He had a huge smile on his face and put her down and let her run towards me. It was instant love for both Andy and I... and I think Daisy too!
So now we are complete... our little family of 2 is now a family of 3... for now at least! :)

I have to tell you... as I type this, my hubby's legs are on my lap, and my puppy's head is on my feet... and I couldn't be happier!!

Here are a few pictures of our angel!
She loves her chew rings!

My 2 loves!

She's so cute!

don't you love that face?! and those floppy ears!

Banker.... really?!

Well... it's official.. I am a banker!
Never in my life would I have thought I would say those 4 words... I.am.a.banker. Medicine has been my passion and what I love, but after a few months of searching for a job in the Medical Field I finally just decided to expand my horizons... and I did... into banking! This week has been my first week at the branch, the first 2 weeks were training... and let me tell you, training kicked my behind! I thought for sure that I would get to my branch and *hate* it... but my husband kept telling me it would work out, if it was meant to be... it would be.. and sure enough, I love it! I love the people interaction, I love that I can do something else with myself other than medicine, and I love that I have knowledge in 2 different huge fields! Being an Army Wife you can have 2 types of careers... Banking and Medicine! I have conquered them both! Well... conquered Medicine, give me a little while and I'll conquer banking too!
Like I said... the first 2 weeks were brutal, there was one night that I came home in tears because I just didn't understand it! There are 2 things you don't want to mess with when it comes to people... that's their children and their money... and we handle 1 of those! no pressure right?!
So Monday I went to my branch, which is conveniently located inside the PX (the store on post) and I was SO nervous! I had my clothes all ironed and hung ready to wear, my shoes out and polished all up, and my matching jewelry set out! I was ready! I went in thinking, ok.. if I can do this, then I'm good to go... if I can't well then banking just isn't my thing and I'll keep pursing the medical field.... well Monday and Tuesday were GREAT and today I got my very own drawer!!! I'm an official Teller and it feels good! The ladies at the branch are so sweet too... they are extremely helpful and very encouraging. I think it's going to be a fun journey... at least for while we are here in Georgia!

My MaMa was a banker, and my mom was a banker... so who knows, maybe it was in my blood??

My favorite thing about banking is the people interaction... I LOVE working with people, I think that's why my heart was in the Medical part of life... and now I just get a different side of people... mostly happy ones which is great!

So... there it is... my journey over the last few weeks.
A BIG thank you to my patient husband who put up with me the last few weeks as I was having moments of doubting myself, for wiping my tears away and handling me during times where I was just plain grumpy! Love you babe!

Working girl!

This blog is going to be a little boring... The first week back at work has been interesting... It's a BIG career change for me and I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it. Switching from Medicine to Banking is quite the difference! Working 9-5 is one thing... but then I have to come home and study for the tests at least a few hours each night. I'm very thankful for my helpful husband who is more than willing to sit down and study with me each night.

I have 1 more week of training and then I move on to the big world of banking... Hopefully I start to catch on this week and feel more comfortable before I make the transition.

The good news... My hubby found me a drink that I've been wanting to try for about 6 months now! Have you ever heard of Skinny Girl Margarita's? Well... we found it!!!

And on a happy note... I saw this picture on my SIL's facebook... this little munchkin is just toooooo cute!

Tonight we are going to our friend's house to hang out... so I must go study! I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Back to work I go...

It was my first day of work... after almost 3 months off! It was so weird setting my alarm, preparing my clothes, and going to bed at a certain time... SO weird... but I really enjoyed it! I think I'm going to enjoy working as a Teller...it will be a nice change of pace.
I have to tell you, the best part of the day was having my husband take me to work, come have lunch with me and pick me up from work! Fort Stewart had a 4 day weekend this weekend for Mother's day... so it was weird to have him send me off to work... but it made my first day wonderful having him there :)
The other best part was our trainer... she is from SOOOOOOUTHERN Georgia... and she has an accent thicker than mud! When she introduced herself she said "My name is so and so... and I'm from the sticks!" Needless to say, 8 hours of training is so much easier when you have people with thick accents to listen to! ha ha!
This was a quick picture I took before I left for work.

My new shoes! Thanks honey! ;)

My lunch date!

This hot thing picked me up! :)

Relaxation time!!

Happy Monday everyone!

Fun in the Sun...

On Saturday we went to Tybee Island with our friends for a day of fun in the sun.... it was a BLAST!!!
Tybee is only about an hour or so away and it's worth the drive! To be able to just lay out and relax was wonderful! Here are some pictures of our day!

Here was our caravan out to Tybee.. the Woodwards are in the front in the van and the Wootens in the Maroon Taurus.

Hello Wooten's!

We had Walkit-Talkie's between the 3 cars and it was hilarious! It made the hour long ride go super fast!

The wonderful map that my mom got us... it's come in very handy!

Emily loves Andy... and Andy loves her!

Tybee Island was where The Last Song was filmed... here is a poster to prove it! It was signed by all the big actors of the movie.

Someone's ready for the beach!
